TorchCast Episode 5 – Kennedy Shuts It Down

TorchCast Episode 5 – In this episode Katie and I are joined by D/FW Hard Rock band Kennedy, fresh out a weekend packed with shows including playing in front of a packed crowd at Trees with Black Stone Cherry. We discuss the multiple versions of Kennedy and how the current line up came to be along with plenty of other things including their thoughts on being a band that actually cares for and interacts with fans whenever possible.

KB reads a few CraigsList  musician want ads and we talk about attention spans and how one of the adds was just way to long and was all over the place and also KB discusses the show American Idol and how it pretty much sucks.

I go over some music news… Is Drowning Pool’s new singer none other than James Durbin? Why are they playing two random shows together.. 80  American All Shall Perish fans are being sued for illegally downloading the band’s latest album by someone who is not the band, management or their label yet somehow has the rights to the songs. I also read a concert review of Meshuggah by “MetalGF” and commend her for actually going to a metal show with her boyfriend to support him and his love for Metal

We play 3 songs of Kennedy’s full length album “Diaries Vol 1″ which are “The Novel Fate”, “Blue Eyes” and “The Laws of Morality” and discuss what inspired Callie to write “Blue Eyes”. All songs can be bought via iTunes but myself and the band prefer you just buy the entire album.

We discuss upcoming shows for Kennedy and of course Upcoming Torch Entertainment shows including having The Sammus Theory in Dallas June 2 at Renos and the Straight Line Stitch/BlameShift show June 7 at Tomcats West.

Also included in this episode is “Pedestal” by The Sammus Theory, “Figure Out A Way” by BlameShift and “Colors Run Red” by Fantasma.

“Pedestal” can by found on the album “Trusting The Liar” which can be found on iTunes, their website and at any shows.

“Figure Out A Way” can be found on the album “The Black Rose” which is available on iTunes, BigCartel and at live shows.

“Colors Run Red” can be found on the album “Stories Of Earth Women” which is available on iTunes, and at any Fantasma live show.
