WBR #126 – OTTER SMASH the Tacocopter

WOW… I’m not sure what all happened to this show, but it was a fun ride that ended in a laughing fit and tears.  We get kicked off by none other than Jeff Rains and Eazy E! We talk about some crazy stuff, premier the NEW WhiskeyBoy’s Love Poems, Play would you rather, Have some Good Idea, Bad Idea, Worse idea, and we talk a LOT about Goblins.  Throw in some killer music from Damn This Desert Air, Blue October & Night Gallery and we’ve got a show… but wait, if you listen NOW we will throw in all this – The New WhiskeyBoy Radio Drinking Game, Matt’s Political Ad of the week, random callers, excerpts from a 1960′s sex ed manual for girls, more calls to the Getz family and a crazy woman smashing Hispanic Hulk penis!  All that plus more than I care to remember on this episode of WhiskeyBoy Radio.  Be sure to get us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/whiskeyboyradio and call us up with a voicemail anytime at 817-727-8888.  Tell your friends and we’ll see you next time!

The Music Enthusiast Podcast #17 – “…You’re Lucky I’m not God, B!t*h…”

I didn’t realize it when I was making this show, but I play a lot of female fronted bands or singers on this episode, which should just be even more reason to love it. I mention some of the concerts I saw from the past weekend, talk about the launch of RYA Entertainment and also address the sudden talk about me being a robot (the rumors are false… Or are they?)

Some killer tunes are played by The Crazy Ivans, Eyes Turn Stone, The Opium Symphony, Leslie Lowe, Allison’s Invention, Sealion and finally, The Hush. I also of course cover all the awesome concerts happening for the coming week that YOU should go check out.

Thank you all for listening, I hope you enjoy the show and if you like ANY of the music played, please click the links below and purchase it to support these independent artists. Oh, and visit my blog if you feel so inclined.

Double Shot #10 – Where is Ricardo Blake?

Welcome to the Double Shot Podcast, Episode 10!  We start this episode chatting it up and talking about what we’ve been up to… including an explanation about where WhiskeyBoy was for 3 hours on Wednesday, when he was missing… it’s a beautiful story about lust, kidnapping, anger, duct tape and Jeff Rains wife… also, it’s SO very True!  After that we move on, talking all kinds of trash… including where and who masturbated in a porta-potty at a public park.  Sick, we are just SICK.  We also recap the amazing show from the 31st at the Curtain Club, highlighting Producer Lants’ love of puking in my cars, and do some horrible prank calls with celebrity guests.  Enjoy the show!

The Music Enthusiast Podcast #16 – You Were Only a Song

Who wants to hear some more KILLER Texas music with some tunes from across the U.S. and even the world thrown in!? If you do then you came to the right place. We begin a little slower with the wonderful singer/songwriter, Arielle O’Keefe, and then switch into rock gear with some Truffula Tree (NOTE: After recording this show, I discovered Truffula Tree is disbanding. The two shows of theirs I mention will be the last the band performs.) and In Memory of Man. I play a couple tunes from bands who are on tour and stopping by Dallas this week, which are Clepto and Plain Jane Automobile.  While NattyFox and Vinny Piana bring the show to a close.

I think it’s a good show with a nice range, both in style of music and where the bands are from, and I hope you enjoy it! Thank you for listening, visit my blog if you wish, and I hope to see you on the next episode of The Music Enthusiast Podcast!

The Music Enthusiast Podcast #15 – The Torch Entertainment Takeover Show

This episode is a FIRST, folks! I am joined, in studio, by one of the best promoters in the D-FW area, “Torch” of Torch Entertainment.

We do a little Q & A throughout the nearly two hour long show, and he even turns the tables on me for a minute asking me a question. We talk a little bit about everything, from music to TV, and even how apparently not all Americans hate Canadians and “gingers” (listen, you’ll understand.) And the question of the day? Where is Ty Griffin?

I also had Torch pick the playlist for this show, so we get to hear some tunes from some of his favorite bands, including Dark Horse Darling, No Scope, The Sammus Theory, Bult, Clepto, Redefine, Deaf Angel, Dawn Over Zero and Embrace the Embers.

This is a VERY fun show, and if you’ve been a fan of the past The Music Enthusiast shows, you should enjoy this one even more since it is totally different.

Check out Torchs’ pages: Official Website / Facebook / Tumblr / Twitter. Also, read THIS interview he did with Katie of Sawed Off Productions.

Thanks for listening everyone, and remember, I post a new show EVERY Sunday, so I hope to see you next week!

The Music Enthusiast Podcast #14 – The Times They Are a Changing

Episode 14 of The Music Enthusiast Podcast is totally different from any other (some of) you have ever heard before, because now you can listen to the full one plus hour of the show without being a member of the Dark Side. I get you ready for the Texas Music Unites launch party (happening March 31st at the Curtain Club) with the first several songs by spinning most of the bands who are playing the event. This includes Fantasma, Red Angel Theory, Moving Atlas and Dawn Over Zero. As if that wasn’t enough I play the single from The Winniebago Forcefield, then some music by Two Ton FolkClepto, and finish the show with a tune by Vajra. And I of course cover the concert calendar for the week, too.

WhiskeyBoy’s Dark Side will still be home to exclusive videos and such, though. So go visit the site and consider subscribing.

Thanks for listening everyone, and I hope you enjoy the new format of the show!

WBR #122 – Red Angel Theory & Vagina Braille

The band Red Angel Theory joins us LIVE in the studio this week… we talk about everything from brewing your own beer, vaginal braille, inspiration from pony sex and more.  Red Angel Theory plays some live acoustic tunes and we have a KILLER good time… plus we take calls from hot bitches.  The live tunes sound a bit rough at first, but it’s TOTALLY my fault, the sound board was not cooperating and I apologize to everyone.. it get’s worked out as we progress.  SO, enjoy this episode, featuring every possible topic on the planet!  Be sure to visit our website at www.whiskeyboyradio.com and call us at 817-727-8888.  Tell your friends, see you next time.
